In the heart of Lippe between the Teutoburg Forest and the Weserbergland, you find one of the most beautiful cities in Germany: the 800-year-old Renaissance city of Lemgo.

It is surrounded by a particularly charming, diverse forest and hills. Here you can enjoy walking, for example, in Lemgo Mark, a woodland paradise with the Rangers ponds and game preserves.

X 9 Hansaweg (Herford-Lemgo-Hameln)
This 72 km long road reminiscent of the old Hanseatic city of Herford, Lemgo and Hamel. It has the following route: Herford – Bad Salzuflen – Lemgo – Hillentrup – Burg Sternberg – Bösingfeld – High Asch (371 m) – Forest Spring – Klütturm – Hamel. This route passes through lippe in east direction to the river Weser.

Hermannsweg – Weg der Sagen und Geschichte
This trail is the ridge trail in the Teutoburg Forest and one of the most popular routes in the North German low mountain ranges. With a length of 156 km, it starts in Rheine via Tecklenburg, Bad Iburg Borgholzhausen, Bielefeld, Oerlinghausen, Hermann Monument (Detmold), Extern Stones (horn) to the summit Velmerstot (441 m) (Horn Leopoldstal).er Tecklenburg, Bad Iburg, Borgholzhausen, Bielefeld, Oerlinghausen, Hermannsdenkmal (Detmold), Externsteine (Horn) zum Berggipfel Velmerstot (441 m) (Horn-Leopoldstal).

X 3 Cheruskerweg
At 65 km in length, this trail also leads in a north-south direction through Lippe with the following route: Porta Westfalica – Vlotho – Talle – Lemgo – Detmold – Hermannsdenkmal – Kreuzkrug.

X 7 Runenweg
This trail is 70 km long and has with the X 3 Runenweg a common start point and end point in Porta Westfalica and Kreuzkrug. The route is: Porta Westfalica – Weserfähre Veltheim – Varenholz – Langenholzhausen – Hohenhausen – Bavenhausen – Lemgo – Ortmühle – Bad Meinberg – Horn – Externsteine – Kreuzkrug.
